Industry, not a slogan

“Construction” on this page resolves to the Industry taxonomy, which includes the Construction & Built Environment row when that is the matching record. The vacancies are live jobs tagged with that industry. A company that has never been tagged is not pulled in to inflate the list.

Site supervisors, coordinators, engineers, quantity surveyors, and project staff can all appear when employers file them under this industry. Trade roles appear only when an employer posted them. We do not backfill missing trades.

Built environment is more than one job

A main contractor, a consultancy, and a specialist subcontractor hire different profiles. Safety culture, drawings, and coordination show up across many of them. The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) regulates much of the built environment; it is not the agency that issues work passes. Keep BCA, MOM, and professional registration separate in your own notes.

If you are an engineer, name the discipline and the registration status you actually hold. If you are a supervisor, name the projects and the crew size you have run. Do not borrow project names from this article. There are none.

Work passes in construction

Foreign workers in construction may be on a Work Permit, an S Pass, or an Employment Pass. The employer chooses the route that fits the occupation and MOM’s rules, including sector quota and levy where those apply. A degree does not automatically mean Employment Pass. A trade does not automatically mean Work Permit.

Pass references

Singapore work passes are applied for by the employer, not by the candidate. A job advertisement is not an approval from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), and JobVacancySG cannot tell you which pass an employer will use.

What the job list is

The vacancies on this page are real JobVacancySG listings. If a filter cannot be applied to the job database, the page says so and does not invent a count. The industry value “Construction” is matched to a real Industry row by name or slug. When nothing matches, the page says that no matching vacancies are currently available and invites you to register. It does not show sample jobs.

Open the company from the job detail page when a company profile exists. The Singapore company jobs page is limited to employers that have an active profile with text in it. A construction listing without that profile still appears here if the industry tag matches. It does not appear there.

Basic site safety induction and trade certificates belong on your profile when you hold them. They are not assumed because you opened this page.

Pay and claims

Published salary ranges are the employer’s figures. Unpublished salaries stay unpublished. Day-rate gossip is not reproduced here. If a recruiter quotes a rate, ask whether it is the worker’s wage or a charge rate to the client.

Register and apply through the listing if you want to be considered. An empty list means the industry filter currently matches nothing live.

Reading a construction listing

Look for the project stage the employer mentions, the discipline, and whether the work is site-based or in a project office. A coordinator who never visits site and a supervisor who is on site every day should not be treated as the same application, even when both sit in this industry.

Safety certificates, trade tests, and professional engineer registration are only relevant when you hold them and when the listing asks. Do not add BCA courses you have not taken because a guide mentioned the regulator.

If the employer published a salary, it is on the job. If they did not, there is no construction day-rate table on this page to fill the gap. Ask the employer, and ask whether the figure is a wage or a client charge-out.

What to check before you treat a listing as site work

Construction employment in Singapore covers main contractors, consultants, and specialist trades. A vacancy on this page is here because the employer tagged the construction industry, not because JobVacancySG recognised a company name or a project. No employer and no project is invented to fill a gap.

Ask whether the work is on site or in a project office, which safety certificate the listing actually names, and which company will employ you. A main contractor, a subcontractor, and an agency can all be involved. The company profile, when the job has one, is the linked record. It is not a rating and it is not a review.

Work Permit, S Pass, and Employment Pass remain separate MOM routes. This industry page does not split them. The S Pass page does, and only by visa type. If you hold a trade test or a professional registration, put that on your profile. Register, then apply to the listing whose tasks you can evidence.
